But you have forgotten to answer the secondary part of the Question about a man whose life is consumed in cares and worries of his duties as a father. He is poor, he is unlettered; and he has no time.

//You say, you are rendering a great service through these discourses; and you want to bring the epical truths to the young generations.//

In order to benefit from your services, I must be computer-saavy, lettered in Tamil, and some English too, have enough time on hand, and such relaxation as can help me sit before a PC - which I must own, afte spending many thousands of hard-earned rupees, which could have helped me buy some feeding bottles to my babies.

//Your niir is selectively channelled and will irrigate only the arable fields which are already awash with abundant supply of water. The barren lands, as they are condemned to be barren by cruel fate or man-made cruelty, is out of your reckoning completely. How idyllic!//

nirr???? :P

//National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights //

No self appraisal in these matters. It is restricted.

//'Measuring life in coffee spoons
Talking of Michangello'

Have you observed that?//

Yes, Sir, I do.

//People have become more clever nowadays. The effect of such books is minimal today.//

//Now, coming to your discourses, while you do agree that the book should not be accepted in toto blindly, yet, do you show such discernment and discrimination in your blog? If no, your reproduction of the epic defeats your noble intention.//

  1. Geetha Sambasivam!

I, too, now cry off (i.e sudden withdrawal) in deference to the general wishes although I wanted to continue with my furher posting on Arbindo etc. today.

Thanks a lot. Wishes for your continued efforts (I shouldn't call it services, should I?) in telling others about the religion you follow.

  7. I have written 'cry off' which is an idiom for sudden withdrawal. I am saying, I am withdrawing as you have wished.

But you have misunderstood that my word, cry off, refers to you and I am saying you have sudden withdrawal. Not at all. It is not my intention to make you stop writing. Your problem is inferences that do not logically follow. If such inferences are good, ok? If bad,...?

    Dr Shiva!

Do you know the story of Maduraikavi Azwaar? Being more religious man, as seen from interests here, you must be knowing such Azwaar.

This Azwaar was in search of god. He wandered all over India, to find a guru for himself who could guide him to attain greater heights in spirituality. Could not find one, even after so much wandering for so many years.

Finally, he came to know that in so close to his own home village, Tholaivilli mangkalam, there was a child-guru. Thither he proceeded and found the child guru siiting in a hole of a tamarind tree.

People said, 'The child is the greatest guru, divinely ordained to be born on earth.' Maduraikavi was skeptical. He was not a man to accept anything blindly. He was not a man to suddenly fall at the feet of anyone on assumptions and presumptions. He wanted a test.

He subjected the child guru to intense quetioning on spiritual matters. The story of Maduraikavi did not elaborately tell us all about the questions, but it did tell us about a vital question. I am not writing about that question here; it is for you to explore.

The answer given by the child guru convinced Maduraikavi that it is this guru who can guide me. Madurakavi went further and further to explore the spirituality and divinity of the child guru; and became convinced that this child guru was none but an extension of the Perumaal. Further, he decided that he would henceforth take him as his Divine Light; and, shower his worship on him only: Devumarrumariyileen.

It means 'He is my God. I need no other'

    The child-guru is Nammaazwar.

I dont mean from this story that I am like the Madurakavi; and this blogger is Nammaazwar.

I mean to convey that a blogger on spiritual matters should be able to face questions on the matters she puts in, for the reading of the whole world. She cant say, it is for select few. In that case, she should have introduced her blog accordingly so that others may keep off.

It is in her answers that her blog will be convincing and shining. Since of you treat religion as an ideology, so your way will be passive receptivity.

Saints have paased through active receptivity, as evidenced from not only Madurakavi but also from many others.

Even the upanishads are in question-and-answer format.

But the feedbackers could not think differently; and took me for a Devil's Advocate.

Geetha, encourage questionings; and find answers to post here. This will make the non-believers to question their own non-belief.

A good teacher will make the backbencher to be a good student and pass the exams. A bad teacher will fill his class with brilliant students and take the credit for their success.

You dont want me to continue here. But I have a duty to dispell some misunderstandings of not only you, but your feedbackers, who are your loyalists.

    A last word:

    Friends,

Religion should be explored on one's own efforts. Guidance from guru is only a side help. And, all of us should arrive at our own conclusions. Such conclusions will alone make us truly attached to our faith. Everything else is false love that will fizzle like soda fop at the slightest hindrance!

    Geetha!

I have no blog. I am not in computer field. I can only type and nothing more. So, dont infer again.

I hope you will allow my feedback to appear here; otherwise, your feedbackers get away with false charges; and you help them fling false charges at another. Be fair an allow it. I am anguished at your blocking my earlier message to Mugavai Mainthen; and he got away with his accusation!

    Extracted from Dr Shiva's feedback.

    Shiva! ithuvum keeLviyee! vithandavaatham alla.

It is your perception. What can I do?

As I told, mugavai mainthan, will he slap his child if it asks why your god is fearsome but you say, god is all kindness.

Shiva, again to you. All questions and answers may not contain all polite, decent and politically, socially and personally correct questions.

Questions are questions. The nature of question is decided by people like you differently.

My question: Why so much writing on blogs on such things, when there is no chance of a man reading it; and isnt it useless? is absolutely correct, necessary and vital.

To call it vithandavaatham is narrow-mindedess and religious fanaticism.

I used the word Devil's Advocate. Now, let me briefly explain about its meaning.

In Roman Catholicism, there is a practice of beautifying certain great people as saints. Beautification means declaring them as saints after due procedure.

There will be a panel of Cardinals, chaired by the Pope. The panel will be divided into two groups: for and against.

The favourable group will go on explaining the miracles, the name and fame of the person to be beautified. The unfavourable group, or the critics, willl have a list of all accusations before them based on surmises, doubts about the saintliness of the person. The debate will go on, and the favourable group should face the questions, (most of them will appear to be vithandavaathams if you are on the panel definitely!)and bring out convincing answers. Such exercise will last for more than a year. Not every day. But periodically. New Questions,,New evidences. After a long gruelling procedure, if the person emerges clean beyond all reasonable doubt, he or she will be declared as a saint.

In the discussions, Mother Theresa fell to the vithandavaatham of 'backsliding', but she emerged out of it clean; hence, her beautification. 'Backsliding' means questioning her faith. Doubt.

The unfavorable group, the critics, are called 'Devil's Advocates', even though all of them are Cardinals.

To Christian priests, I have hurled a variety of questions, most of you will offend even a Hindu like you. They calmly and smilingly clarified to me. I have friends among them. They are worthy to be in the profession!

On the contrary, here, I see, a variety of ingenious excuses from feedbackers like you to cover up their intolerance.

Intolerance makes fanatics. Religious fanatics believe strongly and unquestioningly. They abhor questioners. If I ask a Muslim such questions, I will be killed if he is a terrorist. No arguments with him!!

Shiva...please mind your steps...it may lead to religious fanaticism. Your word, kolai veRi, is the terminalogy of a religious fanatic!

Struggle through your religion. It is not a cake walk. Be prepared for doubts, skeptism and then, find answers to them. Finally, arrive at your destination.

Again, another aazwaar specially for Shiva. He is Thirumazhiyisai aazvaar. He was not born to Hindu parents. In fact, his parents had no religion. They worshipped tribal and pagan gods. They were, what is today called, dalits. He struggled in his search for his god. He was an atheist, then, a Buddhist, then a Jain muni, then a Saivite (His shiva bakthi was so corruscating that Lord Shiva appeared in the sky and decended below to confer upon him the title, 'Bhakti saarar'), and, he left Shiva also, not a god for him. His final destination was Thirumaal, Vaishnavism. He was convinced about the paraththuvam of his God beyond all doubt. All his poetry is aggressively establishing that. Among all aalvaars, he is the most aggressive.

Now, you got it! Dr Shiva. Dont think religion will fall to your lap. You should first be worthy of it, by your own struggle. No pain, no gain. Religious doubt is the pain you have to endure!

    Good day!

An hotel is open. The signboard says, 'Meals ready'. We go in. We eat. But we find the service bad. Or the food bad. We complain: with such service and food, it is better for you not to run a hotel.

    It is not vithandavvatham.

The blogger is open for all. And, she invites: 'post your comments'. And she has the power to censor also. Why did she invite comments? If she feared the comments would be negative, shouldn't she have thwarted them in the first place? Or, having come to know they are negative, couldn't she have censored them? Whose faux pas is it?

But you say here, that I open a blog and post my opinions. Why not here? After inviting, any one can enter and post? Who said to you that comments should be only positive?

Do you have any difficulty in understanding the words, 'post your comments' and 'your comments will be posted after the blogger has approved'?

You are just a feed-backer; and you should allow the blogger to respond. You should restrain yourself to commenting upon the blog post i.e Ramaayanam. You are here to comment upon her post. Not on feedbackers' posts. Is she your relative? Or has she sought your protection? Tell us.

Do you have any blog? Let me face you there commenting upon your entries on various aanmigam matters. Annmigam is your breath, isnt it? You hve acquired the copyright of Hindu religion and, all Hindu gods and goddesses stand waiting upon you, longing for your praise and bloggings, dont they? Let me see your copyright there?

My basic complain on such postings will be put to you there in your blog. You can face them and answer. I will show, how you bloggers of certain kind, doing a disservice to your Hindu religion, by pretending to propagate it. I know that sort of Hinduism you follow! That is why I am angry. Face me there in your blog. Not here. Invite me. Let you and I not spoil her blog any more.

Give me address of your blog, could you?

    Geethaa!

Even after me crying off, the feedback continue commenting upon me. As long as such feedbacks concern me, I am bound to respond. Sorry!
